Government Skills is asking for feedback after using an AI-generated video within its updated Civil Service Expectations course.

It is the first time an AI-generated video has been used to enhance learning on one of the cross-government courses hosted on Civil Service Learning.

Civil Service Expectation is one of the most widely completed courses on the platform. It covers the Civil Service Code, the 2010 Equality Act, the importance of diversity and inclusion, where to go for help and support, and much more.聽

Recent updates

Piloting a new approach

鈥淎s part of the learning we are piloting the use of an AI-generated video as an optional module to help civil servants understand the new responsibilities,鈥 said Government Skills鈥 online business partner.

鈥淩esearch has shown us that people are generally receptive to learning done in this way so long as it鈥檚 clear that AI is being used.鈥

鈥淚f this short video helps people learn in the way we hope it does, it will be something we can use across more of our learning as it鈥檚 both time and cost-effective. But we are keen for feedback first.鈥

  • is available on Civil Service Learning. It is also part of the Civil Service Essentials - a package of core learning for all civil servants.
