Peru offers business opportunities for UK companies
inPERU road show, led by Peru鈥檚 Finance Minister Luis Miguel Castilla, brought together 500 British companies interested in exploring business opportunities in Peru.

The 40-member inPERU delegation was in London on 30-31 May to promote investment opportunities in Peru and increase awareness of the business potential in this growing economy.
The delegation also included Peru鈥檚 Central Bank President, Julio Velarde, Peru鈥檚 Private Investment Promotion Agency 鈥� ProInversion鈥檚 Executive Director, Javier Illescas, inPERU鈥檚 Chairman, Jose Antonio Blanco, and several senior Peruvian business leaders.
The Director of UK Trade & Investment in Peru, Owen O麓Connor, said this is an exciting time for Peru/UK relations which inPERU visit will help to underpin. He also hoped to see businesses and partnerships generated as a result of the visit, particularly in developing Peru鈥檚 infrastructure projects.
Minister Castilla presented on Peru鈥檚 strong economic growth at 6% (not one year of negative growth in last decade) and impressive GDP which has tripled since 2000. Head of ProInversion, Javier Illescas, presented on the 拢10 billion worth of infrastructure projects planned in Peru, in particular the 拢3 billion Lima Metro project which is already generating UK interest.
The Rt. Hon. Hugo Swire, Minister of State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, met with Minister Castilla and spoke at the Seminar 鈥淧eru: A unique investment opportunity in emerging markets鈥�, organised by inPERU. He outlined the importance of the UK/Peru relationship while highlighting the key platforms and initiatives to cement this relationship still further.
