Jenny Stewart

Biography

Jenny Stewart was appointed Science Director of the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) in 2021.

For 12 months from June 2024, she was Chief Executive (interim) of APHA.

Before joining APHA, Jenny was Director of Science at the Home Office where she led research, operational and regulatory teams. She was also the senior responsible owner for the Home Office Biometrics Programme.

Jenny鈥檚 career has been in central government and higher education, working in transformation, science and technology roles.

Director of Science

The Director of Science leads the delivery of APHA鈥檚 scientific research and services and is the senior end user for the National Biosecurity Centre Programme to develop the science facilities and capability at APHA Weybridge.
