Richard Schofield

Biography

Richard is a Chartered Town Planner and is The Planning Inspectorate’s most senior Planning Inspector. He joined The Planning Inspectorate in 2013 from a senior management role in local government. He has also worked in the private and Third sectors. In addition to practical expertise gained from his work as a town planner and Planning Inspector, he has considerable experience of operational and strategic management. Richard has responsibility for inspectors� professional standards and the quality of PINS� output, as well as being the liaison on policy matters with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and key stakeholder bodies.
