This research allows Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to deepen its understanding of the AI sector, monitor developments over time, and evaluate interventions to best support sector growth.

The research aims to answer important questions on the AI sector, such as:

  • How much does the UK鈥檚聽AI聽sector contribute to the UK economy?
  • Is investment enabling growth, development, innovation and聽R&D听蹿辞谤听AI听蝉迟补谤迟耻辫蝉?
  • What products and services does the聽AI聽sector produce and offer and which sub-sectors does it mostly serve?
  • What are the market dynamics of the聽AI聽market and do they lend themselves to innovation, growth, and global competition and cooperation?

In 2023, as in聽2022, the study was produced for the聽DSIT聽by Perspective Economics, Ipsos and Glass.ai.
