Barrack Street Developments Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Wensum at St James Mill, The Close, Whitefriars, Norwich, Norfolk at National Grid Reference TG 23495 09239.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

The applicant plans to install an open-loop water source heat pump system for heating and cooling the building at St James Mill.
The abstracted water will be pumped through a heat exchanger and then returned to the River Wensum at National Grid Reference TG 23505 09251, approximately 10 metres downstream of the abstraction point, within 24 hours of abstraction.
