Request for input on potential UK tariff measures in response to US tariffs
Updated 2 May 2025
Request for input description
Businesses were invited to respond to the request for input on potential UK measures to US tariffs between 3 April and 1 May 2025. The process has now closed to responses. We would like to thank all businesses who engaged with this process.聽The government will now consider this input in determining next steps.
To assist businesses in considering the impact of UK tariffs, the government published a supporting indicative long list of US products, from which the government is most likely to draw in developing any future tariffs.
The government developed the indicative long list of US products with the intention of identifying products where there would be a more limited impact on UK businesses and consumers. The inclusion of a product on this list does not mean that it will appear in any UK tariff response, should the UK choose to impose tariffs on US goods at all.
This request for input closed at 11:59pm on 1 May 2025. The government cannot guarantee that responses received after this date will be considered.
