The YJB鈥檚 Serious Incidents Review 2023鈥24 examines 438 serious incident notifications involving 546 children across England and Wales. The report identifies key trends, including a rise in cases related to criminal exploitation and delays in charging decisions, particularly for serious offences like rape and terrorism.

This is the second annual report on serious incidents by the YJB, however the last report was for internal use only and this will be the first time this data is published.
