TCM1000078 - How to check if a new claim is from the same customer household as an existing claim

Step 1

Note: In a two-person claim you will need to carry out the actions below for both customers.

On the 鈥楩unction Menu鈥�

  • select 鈥楢pplication鈥� on the toolbar
  • select 鈥榁iew鈥� from the options available. You will be taken to the 鈥楰ey Entry Data - Applicant鈥� screen
  • enter the customer鈥檚 NINO
  • select the 鈥楲atest鈥� checkbox
  • select 鈥極K鈥�.

If you are taken to the 鈥楽elect Application Version鈥� screen

  • select the relevant claim

Note: If there is more than one claim you will have to select each claim in turn to check the customer鈥檚 details.

  • select 鈥極K鈥�. You will be taken to the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen
  • go to Step 2.

If you are taken straight to the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen, go to Step 2.

Step 2

The 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen will show the personal details of customer 1 and, if there is one, customer 2

  • compare the customer鈥檚 personal details shown on the tax credits computer with the details you hold to see if they are an exact match. If they are an exact match, the new claim is from the same customer as an existing claim.
