TCM1000299 - How to check for and clear a rule 2 verification failure

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu�

  • select ‘Applicationâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Verification Failuresâ€� from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Dataâ€� screen
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You will be taken to the ‘Manage Verification Failuresâ€� screen.

If any outstanding verification failures are shown, go to Step 2.

If no verification failures are shown, there is no rule 2 verification failure to clear.

Step 2

On the ‘Manage Verification Failures� screen, check to see if there are any rule 2 verification failures.

If there are no rule 2 verification failures, there is no rule 2 verification failure to clear.

If there is a rule 2 verification failure

  • select the rule 2 verification failure
  • select ‘Investigateâ€�. You will be taken to the ‘Investigate Verification Failureâ€� screen

Note: You must repeat the above for each rule 2 verification failure.

  • confirm the verification failure is for the child or young person you recently added or re-included
  • go to Step 3.

Step 3

If there is no rule 2 verification failure for the child or young person you recently added or re-included, there is no rule 2 verification failure to clear.

If there is a rule 2 verification failure for the child or young person you recently added or re-included, go to Step 4.

Step 4

On the ‘Investigate Verification Failure� screen

  • select ‘OKâ€�. You will be taken back to the ‘Manage Verification Failuresâ€� screen
  • select ‘Change Verificationâ€�. You will be taken to the ‘Change of Status Reasonâ€� screen
  • enter the appropriate reason in the ‘Reasonâ€� field
  • select ‘OKâ€�
  • when the message ‘Do you want to processâ€� displays, select ‘Yesâ€�
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You have cleared the rule 2 verification failure.
