Celebrating our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion at Companies House

Our strategy shows how we鈥檙e committed to delivering an inclusive and diverse culture where all employees can flourish, drive high performance and deliver brilliant service.

It鈥檚 not just what we say, but also what we do. We embrace diversity in thinking, skills, experience and ideas, enhancing our organisational capability and understanding of our customer needs.

In November 2021 we started to implement our Companies House equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) strategy.

This was in response to recognising that we鈥檙e on a journey to making sure that the culture of the organisation is people led with ED&I being an integral part of all that we do, and the services we deliver.

In the development of our strategy we ensured that it complimented the culture of the organisation and focused on 3 core themes:

  • recruiting and attracting the best diverse talent
  • supporting, developing, rewarding and retaining
  • the work that we do

We recognise that ED&I is about tackling under-representation, building inclusive cultures, and ensuring organisational accountability for progress, as well as creating and implementing innovative approaches that drive change. In the last year we have been working towards these goals.

It鈥檚 important to us that it鈥檚 not just what we say, but what we do and deliver that counts in supporting and creating an inclusive, positive culture where everyone can bring their whole selves to work. Our strategy shows that we鈥檙e committed to creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential and that diversity is integral to inclusive policymaking and the delivery of excellent public services.

Speaking about the strategy, Michelle Wall, Director of Finance and Commercial at Companies House and our executive champion for ED&I said:

Within our corporate strategy for 2020 to 2025 we state that,聽鈥橧nclusion is the golden thread that runs through all Companies House activity鈥.聽

As diversity champion I鈥檓 committed to ensuring that as an organisation we collectively deliver this vision, ensuring that we provide equality of opportunities, that we鈥檙e representative of the citizens that we serve and that we have an inclusive culture which ensures that everyone can bring their whole selves to work.
