Wales Office Minister, Baroness Jenny Randerson will attend a commemorative service in Cardiff聽today (28 January) to pay tribute toall those who have been the victims of聽The Holocaust.聽

Holocaust Memorial Day (27 January) is a national event dedicated to the remembrance of the victims of genocide and to the honour of the survivors of hatred regimes worldwide. The theme for the 2013 commemoration is 鈥楥ommunities Together: Build a Bridge鈥�.聽聽

Wales鈥檚 National Commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day will be marked by a service at City Hall in Cardiff.聽聽

Baroness Randerson said:

Holocaust Memorial Day聽allows us to reflect upon聽 the appalling consequences of聽persecution. It聽provides the opportunity to remember and pay tribute to those who have suffered and died as a result. 聽It also reminds us of the courage shown by the survivors of genocide and the importance of learning lessons from these tragic events.聽聽聽

This year鈥檚 message of Holocaust Memorial Day 鈥楥ommunities Together: Build a Bridge聽鈥櫬� is one we must all take to heart and act upon. 聽Today, we聽聽can聽all take the opportunity to reflect upon the ways in which we live our lives and look at how we can聽聽create better, stronger communities together.
